Highlights of the Week
We had a really fun week-other than Sarah feeling a little under the weather. Both girls had their last day of school for Christmas Break. Sarah's class sang some songs and had a party for all the parents. So cute! (I forgot my camera!) Steve even made a surprise appearance, which really made Sarah's day. We had some good friends over for dinner with their new baby. Carolyn did a great job playing hostess to all of them! She got to hold Kaylin for the first time, drew pictures for all of the adults to take home, and gave them chocolate kisses as they were walking out the door. She loves to have "adult" conversation, too. Such a first-born! She really does have the gift of hospitality.
The week ended with a lazy morning making wonderful-smelling ornaments and then off to Riley to sing Christmas carols at the Ronald McDonald House.

Someone at Steve's work had organized it. It was really fun! The girls had put some candy and candy canes in a bag so they could hand them out to people. They really enjoyed that part! It's so cute to see them decide who they are going to give them to. I don't know how they choose, but I know they feel special doing it. Carolyn did say one kid threw his on the ground! Oops! Should have asked Mom first! Before we left the hospital, we stopped by the big Christmas tree for a family photo.

i tried to send you this email but postmaster keeps giving it back to me
hey i just saw your blog comment. i responded! i think it's sweet that you probably thought you offended me and chose to clear that up. but you really didn't. just got me thinking. we're probably a little touchy about it because we know maybe Santa is an idol. i guess we think it's ok because it's short lived. (more thoughts coming to me now that i've left the comment.) it's a whole can of worms. just know that i respect you and the way you and steve have chosen to raise your family. additionally sent in love...:)
